Her wider area of academic expertise is in the field of Existential Psychotherapy and Coaching grounded in the belief in ones innate ability to engage with uncertainty and anxiety to stimulate and enhance uniqueness and creativity. Her unique combination of academic and professional expertise allows her to provide clients with a secure and trustworthy space to not only understand the sorts of dilemmas and issues confronting their life, but most importantly how to challenge and overcome conflicting values and beliefs that may prevent ones ability to fully live a meaningful life.
Therapy and Coaching is an opportunity for you to clarify and reflect on your situation and, within that process, discover for yourself assumptions, beliefs, attitudes, and conclusions that are maintained in your view of the world. Through investigation you can determine which components in your worldview are flexible and which are rigid and seemingly immoveable. Therapy and Coaching can help reflect on those stances that elicit conflict in your life and highlight the areas where you experience a gap between assumptions and reality. Within this view of your world are emotions and feelings about yourself, others and the world in which you live. In the relationship these feelings can be explored and made explicit through willingness from both the therapist and/or coach and the client.
Therapy and Coaching is not necessarily about diagnosis or cure, nor is it about pathologising or categorizing people; it is about self-knowing and the opening up of possibility within your life.
The safe and confidential space that counselling and/or coaching offers allows for the possibility of gaining a better understanding of difficult thoughts and feelings without the fear of disapproval from the counsellor and/or coach and through the process of examining these feelings inner conflict can be resolved.
